Pushrod Systems

Our R250 pushrod is a modern lightweight pushrod reel with a self-levelling colour camera head, manufactured in the Czech Republic to our UK specification. The latest model comprises a revolving stainless steel frame with reel (no rust or paint chipping problems) to hold the 60 or 80 metre fibre-glass rod with a camera head on one end and a connecting cable at the other end, linking the camera unit to the control box.

The control centre is a hinged case housing a high brightness, anti-glare, 15" flat TFT screen, a DVD recorder and a keyboard (to put script onto the screen, reporting damaged or broken sections of pipe). A PC can be added if you are using sewer software such as WinCan. If required the battery pack control box can used to make the whole unit portable and self-powered for around 3 hours working time, a very useful feature if working some distance from a power supply.

Video tape recorders have now become almost obsolete with digital recording becoming the norm. We can supply control Boxes with a number of different digital recording methods from Flashcards to integral hard drives plus directly to disc.

Our standard R250 unit has a DVD recorder with Hard Drive, but if you want to do more with your recordings on site then the PC version is required. We can supply them all.

A new brake has been designed to slow the pushrod and stop it from escaping.

The R250 pushrod system have a 33 kHz Sonde, a radio beacon that you can receive above ground and will locate the position of the camera head should you need to dig up the pipe. Full information and literature is on our Downloads page.

We also supply a Battery Pack, which weighs 4 kilos and is only 14 inches wide (310mm), has a 7 inch LCD screen and a text writer with recording capability through Video In and Out connections. The screen shows the full set of information sent by the R250 pushrod system.

Working time with the R250 is around 3 hours. This is enough time to do about 3 full surveys. Recording is via a "Video Out" socket, however, we are working on a "Flash-card" memory slot similar to that used in modern digital cameras, and hope this will be ready soon.
